We have seen much better fall weeks over the years but conditions are now great, our guests are wonderful and still managed to hook into 27 Salmon and a few Grilse throughout the week but they also managed to lose more than what were landed, otherwise it might have been a much better week overall. Fishermen have been having good success on the Cains and a bit of action is now now starting again on the Renous and the Main River and also, we are now starting to hook more of the big male hookbills. For the first time in a few weeks we are expecting a sunny week instead of rain. That should help bring the water level down on the main river so the fish will hold up more, All our anglers seem to have better success on cloudy or rainy days so we will have to see how the weeks go to finish off the season.
The weather is beautiful, with colourful fall foliage - it's a great time to be on the water! After last season it is wonderful to see so many guests returning to the River. Everyone is so special in their own way and we love them all, but it's always nice to welcome back guests like the Mosher Brothers and Robert Widgren from Albuquerque New Mexico (ages 72, 82 & 92) who have visited Country Haven in 13 of the past 15 seasons. There is nothing slowing these 3 guys down! We wish them all the best throughout their stay with us and expect it to be another enjoyable and memorable one.
