With just two weeks remaining until the start of the new fishing season, the river has now cleared of ice and debris. However, this year’s ice-out left behind some of the worst ice jams and river heights seen since the 1970 flood, resulting in significant shore ice this spring with majority of it being melted out by opening day!
As the season kicks off on April 15th, guides and fishermen are hopeful for a strong spring and better conditions for the summer ahead compared to last season.
