With raising water and cold rainy conditions the fisherman this week had to dress warm but were soon hooking fish! In the past three days all of our fishing guests landed salmon with 91 year old Burt Williams showing the young guns how to do it! With the amount of snow that is still in the woods and the first week’s conditions being wet and cool, the river should remain at a good height for the spring fishing season well into May. The fish being landed so far seem to be a 50/50 mix of salmon and grilse with the occasional nice trout. Throughout the entire system, both above and below Country Haven, there seems to be good numbers of fish being hooked and with weather conditions improving in the forecast, the Miramichi system should have some tremendous fishing to look forward to in the coming weeks! It’s hard to keep up with all of the photos of our guest’s fish but here are a few from the past few days!
