This past week we welcomed back guests who have been visiting Country Haven for more than 20 years, some already enjoying their second trip of the season, along with a few anglers experiencing the Miramichi for the very first time.

Over our 27 years in business, we have been fortunate to build a wonderful community of guests. People arrive here from around the world as strangers and leave as friends, all brought together by a shared passion for Wild Atlantic Salmon. It is a reminder of just how special the Miramichi and its Salmon Fishery truly are.

Despite less-than-ideal conditions at times, the week still produced some encouraging results. Anglers connected with some salmon, nice trout and bass, with Blue Smelts and Magog Smelts proving to be the flies of choice.

As we move through May, fly fishing for Wild Atlantic Salmon is still our Number One priority. However, more Trout and Striped Bass opportunities become available on the River. The good news is, that we have seen healthy fish, some larger Salmon, and reasons to remain optimistic as the season progresses.

For those looking to experience Spring Fishing on the Miramichi, whether chasing the Wild Atlantic Salmon, Trout, or enjoying some action with Striped Bass, there is still plenty of time in May to get out on the water and enjoy everything the river has to offer.
