October 31st, 2025
On behalf of our entire Country Haven team, we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our many returning guests and the newcomers who joined us this year to fish for Wild Atlantic Salmon — each one becoming part of our ever-growing family on the Miramichi.
Looking back, 2025 was a season of improvement in nearly every way compared to 2024. Except for the challenging weather, the salmon fishing was noticeably better overall.
The spring season started strong, exceeding expectations despite last year’s reports of low returns. June and early July brought a clear upswing in both large salmon and grilse, with anglers landing more grilse in the first two weeks of July than throughout the entire 2024 season.
Although record low water and minimal rain during mid-summer slowed things down, the fall season turned out to be very enjoyable. While water levels remained low, cooler temperatures from early September onward kept fish active and gave anglers a good chance to see or catch a Wild Atlantic Salmon right through to the end of the season.
With so many friends from around the world returning each year, there are always countless special moments and wonderful people who help make every season memorable. We are deeply grateful for your continued support and for being such a big part of what makes Country Haven so special.
We also want to thank everyone who follows our River Reports each season at:

And for those who enjoy a trip down memory lane, you can look back at reports dating all the way to 2001 at:

As another salmon season closes, we wish you all a wonderful, relaxing winter, and we look forward to welcoming you back when the river comes alive again for Opening Day on April 15th, 2026.
Tight Lines from all of us at Country Haven Lodge on the Mighty Miramichi!
