The long-awaited rain finally arrived over the weekend, giving the ground a much needed soaking. While it didn’t do much to raise the river height, a couple of frosty nights have definitely made it feel like fall.
Fishing has picked up and brought some more success than most of the past weeks. Our low-water pools are at a good height for the fresh runs, but we still need more rain to bring up the tributaries and upper river pools.
Most of the luck came on smaller wet flies, particularly #8 and #10 Bear Hair Undertakers. There’s still a bit of action on Bombers as well. We're also starting to see more fresh fish entering the lower stretch of the river.
It was great having the wonderful working group from Liquide Air with fun was had by all! Now we’re looking forward to welcoming our annual Ladies Group starting Thursday, always one of the highlights of the season.
