Well our warmest summer on record made for some wonderful canoeing, swimming and tubing but finally now with cooler nights, some welcome rain and open pools we are getting back to some fishing! We have had plenty of anxious anglers wondering what the fall might bring and we can finally say that we are getting our mojo back and it’s beginning to feel like weather and conditions that, fingers crossed, will result in decent fall season. With a few trips to W.W. Doaks,   Curtis Miramichi Outfitters & Trout Brook Fly Shop during our down time these past weeks, we are now ready to Rrll for for another fall season.  The season thus far has been much like the 2020 Season when there were not many fish in the early fall due to water heights but we ended up having our best fishing by far that latter part of September and into October. One thing we do know, unlike last year at this time with the high water & fish traveling early, most of our fall run fish this year are still yet to come. Our regular guest form the UK, Tony Spratt, who visit us three times a season, hooked and landed our First Fall Atlantic for 2024! After all the time and energy he put in casting this year, both here and in Scotland, this was so well deserved! Hopefully he will be rewarded with more hookups here on the Miramichi on future trips! We also welcomed news of guest Stephen Taylor from Portugal who landed the first fall grilse, a welcome sight for sure! The Country Haven guides are all prepped and excited about another fall season … a favourite time of year for most of them and guests alike! Tight Lines and good luck to everyone for a good fall season!
